A blog. Another blog. That’s all this is, really. If you’ve ever created one of these, you’re likely well acquainted with the excited, overwhelming feeling of importance that your words must surely have. If you’re anything like myself - you spend much too long choosing those words.
This isn’t my first blog. I’ve cycled through a few approaches to these things, and much like a stubborn child, I’ve learned my lesson the hard way. Here’s the reality - this blog is for me. Unless you dream of marrying me, or I became famous and you’ve fallen into the trap of idolizing people, there’s no good reason for you to read this.
So why am I wasting my time, then? I’m a writer - that’s what we do. All day long, thoughts whirl around inside my skull like a never-ending hay devil. If I don’t write, I’ll grab hold of a thought, only to have it blown away - back into the whirlwind. Pen and paper, keys and blogs; both help to capture those thoughts, fasten them to the ground, and put them to rest. It works most of the time, at least.
So, read if you want; follow if you want; close the page and delete your browsing history if you want - I won’t be offended. This blog is not for you. It’s not for your critical comments, either (how ever well-intended they may be). I am one just passing through, and my opinions are likely to change with time and experience - just like yours. I don’t have much of anything figured out, so don’t be flustered if it ever appears that I do. It’s easy to get overconfident when pinning those whirling thoughts down. Ultimately, they’re just thoughts.
Besides, if you don’t let me catch them, I will undoubtedly lose my mind. It will be all your fault, too. And I’ll find you. Oh, I’ll find you…
So enjoy what you enjoy, be offended by what offends you, and be moved by what moves you.
